Hey everyone, so this weeks blog topic is about the top three challenges that I have faced during this school year in media. I haven't had a lot of problems so far, so I guess that's a good sign, right? Anyways here are three things that I have faced so far; having problems with my memory card, doing voice overs, and finally morning announcements.
Firstly, having problems with my memory card. Whenever I plug or put in my memory card into my laptop, it does not show up. What I mean by that is, there would usually be a picture of the memory card on your desktop when you first plug it in, but of course, it does not show up for me. So I would have to shut down my laptop, and then put my memory card back in and then press "Macintosh HD". I also had to make folders on my laptop to and name them like "voice overs", or "8th grade pics", so I don't lose all of my data. But lucky me, I finally fixed it yesterday.
Secondly, doing voice overs. Doing voice overs are so hard. I know it might sound easy but it isn't. When you do voice overs, the quietest sound could mess it all up. The mic you use for voice overs, picks up every sound, but when i talk and I replay the audio, I'm so quiet. I would put the volume all the way up but you would still barley hear me. And every single time I try to do a voice over, someone just casually walks into the room and they don't ask if your done.
Lastly, doing morning announcements. So I had to work on the computer this week and do titles. Again, I know that sounds really easy, but apparently for me it isn't. There is this keyboard you have to use, and you have to press 'f' every time the directer says "fade on" to switch titles. When we practice I press f every time, but right when we go live and the directer says fade on in the beginning, I press space and I basically screwed everything up.
So that's basically my top three challenges I'm facing in media so far; having problems with my memory card, doing voice overs, and morning announcements. If you are or were in media, what do you think your three challenges will be?
Hey there. So I'm going to be talking about one of the best movies of all time, Finding Dory!!! Well that's in my opinion. So this is another animated movie made by Disney, and it's really amazing. I'm still trying to find out how they could put in the character, and make it so it can talk. Wait, I already know how they kind've do that, it's just how do they do it so perfectly that the animated characters mouth is actually moving along with the words that the person that's doing the voice over is saying. I hope that made sense, anyways you guys should watch the trailer down below.
Hey everyone so I'm back for another blog! This weeks blog topic is about our franchise piece we did over the summer, and our franchise piece could also possibly be aired on Hiki No. So we had to do a how to video, so me and my partner Taylor Mccan, chose to do a portable projector because it sounds really interesting.
Firstly, progress. We would want to reshoot most of the clips because we were rushing a little and we had a lot of changes to do. We could keep some shots from when the video is projecting on the wall, we also have to reshoot the supplies or "what you need" section, and take the advice from Mr. Matsunaga and shoot each tool in an individual close-up, then edit the clips so there are no jump cuts. We also have to film in a different place because where we filmed last time; there were paper or a computer in the clip and we couldn't move it.
Secondly, improvements. We have to fix a lot of things, we have to fix the voice over because in the supply section we weren't suppose to say "sharpie", we had to say pen because Hiki No won't except that. We also have to do something with the box, it wasn't really neat because we had to cover up the logo with duct tape, so we might spray paint it so the box is cleaner and looks a lot more neat. Lastly, we have to make the hole where the magnifying glass is supposed to be in, more neater.
Last but not least, when we plan on doing this. Me and Taylor were talking about this other day, and we hope to film and edit during media class and after school when we have time. Our franchise piece is due this week and that should be enough time to edit and film them. we
This week is going to be really busy. But overall, I am excited to be filming and editing again.
Hey everyone. So this is my second blog of the week and i'm going to be talking about this animated movie that's coming up, and it's called "Moana". The trailer was very interesting, and funny at the same time. The music in the background was very calming, i could listen to it all day. Now i wonder, how hard is it to make an animated movie. I mean it would probably take a long time because you have to use the computer and make all the backgrounds, people, and even add the actors voices. Anyways, you guys should check out the trailer down below, bye everyone!
Hey everyone! So this is my first blog and i'm really excited. So this weeks topic is about new goals for the school year. Some goals i would really like to achieve for this school year is having to work with more high quality cameras, learn how to edit better on final cut, and most importantly turn in my work on time.
One of my goals are how to use more high quality cameras. I really want to learn how to use high quality cameras because all i'm using right now is my phone, and it isn't as good quality as some cameras like canon. I've used a canon camera before, but i want to learn about more features on the camera. I also understand we are going to use these cameras for filming, and i'm worried that i might press a button and it could mess up the camera or delete all the important things like videos or pictures that we need. But overall, i am excited to work with these cameras.
My second goal for this year is how to edit better on final cut. We have used final cut for the media camp we had during summer, and we have learned all the basics. But i want to learn how to add transitions or pictures, or even music. When i open the final cut application, i see all these buttons like a wand or other toggles that i don't know how to use. These toggles in the final cut editing app look very interesting and i can't wait till i use them in future videos.
Finally, my last goal is turning in my work on time. I tend to procrastinate a lot and turn in work last minute, but i am working on that. I really want to get A's in this class so i will try to turn in work on time, or even do it a week or three weeks before it's due. I am also excited to do my inside scoops, but again i am a little nervous because i don't want to turn my inside scoops late, or even any films that we have turn in. And when STN comes up i'm going to be extremely nervous because there's a deadline, like when we have to turn in our films in eight hours, but i know this class is going to be a little hard because were going to have a lot of work, but i know it's going to be a fun year.
So these are my goals for this new school years, work with more high quality cameras, learn how to use final cut more, and turn in work in time. I really hope you enjoyed my first ever blog. Thanks for reading, and have a great day everyone!
