Ola people of the internet. This weeks blog topic is about from going good to great, and also talking about what it means. Mr. M talks about this a lot, especially when we have projects... which is basically almost all the time. What I think good to great means is improving and getting better, and better at something. So in this blog, I'm going to be giving three examples on how I could go from good to great.
So next week I'm announcing in the morning announcements, and to be honest, I am really nervous. Considering I haven't done it in almost 2 years, I'm hoping it goes great. I still have no idea how to print the backwards or mirrored paper, so I think that will take time when it's the week we announce. If I do good next week, I could improve more on other thing based on announcing, so I could go from good, to great.
Secondly, I could go from good to great from making several drafts in scripts, our five points, etc. I could go from good to great because if I make different rough drafts, I could improve them step by step so everything in my video goes good, or even better...it could go great! That is another reason on how I could go from good to great.
Lastly, just like making different rough drafts, I could make different rough cut of my video like a news story, or PSA, so the video could look more professional and better. If I make different rough cuts, Mr. M could give a few pointers on how we could make the video look way better and get a good grade on it. That is my last reason on how I could get from good to great.
Overall, I think I could do these by going from good to great. So I hope you guys like this weeks blog! I hope you have a great day!
So this weeks blog is about the morning announcements. If you are wondering what I mean, here's a quick update; basically we used to be behind the camera doing the work while we are going on live and leadership is usually announcing. But some things have changed and now we are both announcing and doing all the behind the scenes things. So back to the blog, we have to type about how the morning announcements are going so far and three thing we can make sure we are the best at.
So the first thing we should make sure we are good at, is when we are switching in between each camera. I had this job this week, which was technical director and we had to switch from announcer to announcer. It was easy, yet kind've hard. You have to switch right on time or you could mess it up. That is one thing we should do our best at.
The second thing we should do our best at is doing titles. Because it does take time in the morning doing all the titles like the lunch and wiki, or breakfast. And we also have to fade on and fade off because like switching, we have to do it right on time.
The last thing we should do our best at is smile after we are done talking. Because some of us, like me don't really smile after talking. If we do smile at after we are done talking, it could look more professional during the live announcement. That is the last thing we should be good at.
Overall, we are doing a really good job in announcements so far. Although, it might add extra work we could still do it. Have an amazing day, and don't forget to come back next week!
Hey everyone for this blog we had to go back to our second quarter blogs and go to our second quarter goals and see if we achieved our goals. Well, I went back and checked what my goals were, but I only achieved two out of those three goals.
So my first blog was to use higher quality cameras. And so I did. For our interviews we used the 60D and the 80D's. And it was really cool using them because they were different then the T2i's and the other cameras. I also got to use the osmo which was really cool because it was way different from the other cameras.
My second goal was to learn to use some other features on final cut pro. I did learn how to use many other features. I also learned some of the shortcuts on final cut pro which helped a lot, especially when I needed to undo something just in case I messed up. I also learned by watching Kirra; my partner, editing parts of our video. I was confused a little when she kept doing a lot of commands but I eventually learned how they used them. That was my second goal from the second quarter, and yes I did achieve this goal.
My last goal from the second quarter was to turn in my work before the deadline, or turn it right in time. Sadly, I did not achieve this goal because for the second half of the quarter, I barley did any of my blogs. I can admit, I have been slacking and I have no excuse. But I hope I get to at least make that up and d all my blogs on time this quarter... or starting now.
Anyways, I hope you guys have and awesome day! I hope you guys enjoyed this blog, and again have an amazing day everyone!!
So on this free blog I'm going to be talking about 5 creative tripod tricks for videos. So I watched the video, and it was kind've cool seeing you could do these camera angles on two different kind of tripods. Although, they are very dangerous. I don't think Mr. M would let us do this with the equipment we have at school. But if you do like taking risk, you could maybe try it with your own equipment. Anyways I hope you like this blog and don't forget to watch the video down below! Have an amazing day!
So this blog topic is about our PSA ideas. To be honest, I didn't really have much ideas, but I do have three. The three are about cyberbullying, racism, or something about watching what you post online. I still don't know what I'm going to do completely for my PSA, but I do have some ideas on what I'm going to do.
So the first idea is about cyberbullying. I know that it is a common PSA, but I think it could still be a good one. So I was thinking that I would have start off as a black and white video, then have someone cyberbullying someone online by having them comment on this other person's post saying hurtful words. And then have the person getting bullied saying thoughts while having them just sit them somewhere looking sad. Right after that, I'm going to have a slide stating some facts, and then a message saying help prevent bullying.
For the second idea, I'm again going to have a black and white filter. And have different people again, saying hurtful words. And then, have some people harassing this other person; not in an inappropriate way. Again i'll also have some facts and then a message, I'm still thinking about that though. But I'm kind've cautious I guess, because I don't want to offend anyone that is watching the PSA.
For my last idea, I'm going to do like to watch out what you post online. Because of what a lot of people post, could affect your future because whatever you post online, will stay online. So I'm going to start off by a person just having fun with her friends. Then have that person start posting something online that is not quite appropriate. And then maybe have like a clip of her future. Then finally, have a slide with a message saying "Be careful what you post online, it could affect your future".
So those are my top 3 PSA ideas. The cyberbully, and racism idea is kind've similar, but I think I might go with the last idea. Anyway I hope you guys like this blog! Byee!
Hey guys, so the blog topic was on our project update. We have to talk about weather we were on track, or behind track for our 2nd quarter project. Honestly, we were kind've behind schedule for many reasons. Some reasons were because we had to make new scripts, film a new interview with Kadee (the person we are doing our news story on), and because we had a bunch fundraiser's that week.
So the first reason was because we had to make new scripts. The reasons behind this was because our 5 points didn't match our questions we asked. What I mean by that is because we had to keep changing our 5 points we had to change our script because, then the 5 points didn't match our script. Sorry if that didn't make sense, but basically we had to keep making a lot of drafts for our scripts and 5 points.
The second reason is because we had to film a new interview with Kadee. Because we had to shoot a new interview with Kadee, we had to make up new questions that matched the new 5 points that we made. After we shot the interview with Kadee, we had to transcribe again, and that took a while, then of course make the new script.
The last on why we are kind've behind schedule is because we had fundraisers and we were planning on editing this weekend. We kind've forgot that we had to do set up and work on the craft fair and breakfast that weekend. And we didn't start editing yet.
Well that are the reasons why were sort've behind on our 2nd quarter project. Sorry if this was blog was kind've confusing, but I hope you guys enjoyed blog. Have a great day bye!
So this free blog is about; tips on using a mono-pod. If some didn't know, we do have a mono-pod in our class and it's very helpful on taking many different shots for b-roll. We did use the mono-pod while shooting for our projects. It did have a lot of advantage like, you could take a variety of shots or angles. Considering it's much different from a regular tripod. The mono-pod does not have 3 legs on it like the regular tripod would have, but the mono-pod only has one 'leg' I guess you would say, but it does have support for the tripod to stand. Anyways I hope you check out the video, it helps a lot!
So for this free blog is going to be tips on using a drone. I actually want one myself because of the cool birds eye views it can take. Not that much camera's can take a birds eye views up hi in the sky except for drones. Unless you are flying in a airplane or a helicopter, or something else. But the drone is special, because it's smooth when it takes videos up in the sky and they look really cool too. Although there may be some downfalls on having a drone, there are many good reasons on why you should have a drone. You should check out this video down below because it has a lot of useful tips on using the drone.
