So for this week's free blog I’m going to be talking about Project Grad! If you don’t know what Project Grad is, it is for seniors after they graduate high school, they party without any influence on drugs or alcohol. So, we had to film that whole thing, and stay up till six in the morning. We had to be up at eight at night, till six in the morning, and I was very tired. Filming was cool though, we had to film all the activities, and the hypnosis. But, unfortunately we only got three interviews, but we are going to try and put them throughout the video we will be making. Anyways, I hope you guys like this blog, bye!
Hey guys, this week's blog topic three things I learned while being in the media class. We do many things in media and it could all go to from meeting new friends, to stressing out about a project…. A lot! But there are lot of things I learned in media, but I’m going to tell you my top three.
The first thing I learned in media is communicating with others. I was a very shy girl before coming into media, I still am a little, but this class has taught me not to be shy, and knowing that I have to talk with many other people when I get older. I have to talk to a lot of different people that I don’t know for things in media. Like talking to someone from a different school to get information for our Inside Scoops. Or talking to people for our interviews and ask them different questions for our project. That is one lesson I learned in media.
Another lesson I learned is to not procrastinate! We have a lot of projects and we to meet deadlines. If we procrastinate we won't get them done or we won't make the deadline. That is another thing I learned in media.
The last thing I learned in media, is about meeting new friends. I have met so many new friends over the year just being in the media class. I have met some friends that live in California! They are our pen pals, and it was really fun hanging out with them while we were in California! I have also became close with some of the people in our class as well. That is the last thing I learned in media.
In conclusion, I have learned a lot of things in media. Anyways, I hope you have a great day… bye!
Hey everyone! Sorry for this late blog, but this weeks blog topic is about our family night video. I have to talk about three reasons on why I chose that video to show for family night. Now, the video I chose to do was about the person named Kadee and she did several random acts of kindness, my partner Kirra and I did a story about her. She did a bunch of charity work, like donate food or backpacks.
The reason first reason why I chose this video is because it was one of my first news stories. Kirra and I had to work on making the five points, T.I.A.S, and shoot b-roll along with other important stuff. We had to change the five points several different times, which meant we had to change the script for our whole video. But that was okay, because I learned a couple things so it won't happen that much next time.
The second reason is that it was one of my best work. Although this video did not get picked by Hiki No, we just found out this week, this video won third place for the STN nationals!! Personally, I think the video had great shots, and great quality. There was many different angles, and I think you could tell what the story we were trying to tell; throughout the video.
Lastly, I think this video told an important message. Kadee, helped donate over three, or four thousand pounds of food to the Kauai Independent Food bank. If you don't know what they do, they provide food for the hungry, and if there are any emergencies. Kadee has also given backpacks to kids who can't buy a backpack, and many more random acts of kindness. Keep in mind, Kadee is only in the sixth grade. She started all of this at the age of nine! The message that was told, was that anyone could make a difference, and it doesn't matter what age you are!
In conclusion, the reasons why I chose the story to play for family night is because it was my first news story, one of my best work, and there was an important message behind it. I hope you have a great day, and don't forget to come back next week for another blog. Bye!!
Hey guys! So this week, Mr. M forgot to post a blog topic; so we get to do a free blog! So I’m going to be doing my free blog, on the Fate of the Furious. So it’s been a little over then a month since the movie came out, and I thought the movie was amazing. All the shots were shot well, I loved all the angles as well too. But there was this one scene where there they were in Russia I believe, and there were on the icy water. All of the sudden a submarine came out of nowhere and was right under the icy water… then BAM! It went through that and it was crazy. I was really starting to think what effects they were using because that looked really real. Anyways, I hope you guys have a great day, and go ahead and check out the trailer down below!
Hey guys! This week’s blog is about our progress on our Kauai Grown project. My partner and I, Napua is running one of the social media accounts for Kauai Grown. And that social media account is Snapchat. One of the reasons why I picked Snapchat is because I use the app a lot, so I said why not.
The first thing we have done so far was make our to-do list on basecamp. Basecamp is the website our whole class is using to keep all of our work in one place. Our to-do list that we made has the tasks that we made like gathering photos from the photography team or the videography team, and also tell Mr. M our schedule for Snapchat.
Another thing we’ve done so far for this project is get pictures from the other teams and figure out how many seconds and how long our Snapchat story should be. So far we got photos and from Kauai Marriott, Ono Pops, and Lin’s Farm. Although, we are facing a problem. One was how we were going to organize our used or unused photos. But, Amber from the photography team, came up with an idea that when any of the social media accounts use a picture, they drag or put it into a used folder made specifically for just that social media.
Lastly, Napua and I also figured out when to post for Snapchat. The plan is to post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:30 am. We are planning to post it in the morning so we don’t have to worry about it later on, and so it’s still fresh. We also have to plan out the specific photos/videos we’re going to post. That is the last thing I’m going to be talking about.
That is our progress so far; making the to-do list on Basecamp, figuring out when to post and how long our snapchat story should be, and our snapchat schedule. That’s it, bye!
Hey everyone, this week’s blog topic is about our top three favorite things or moments that we did at STN! STN was very fun and exciting. But my top three favorite moments was going to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and the closing ceremonies.
Firstly, Disneyland. Disneyland was really, really fun. My favorite rides that we rode was probably California Screamin’ and Hyper Space Mountain! California Screamin’ was one of my favorite because it was one of my first ever roller coaster that I ever rode! Hyper Space Mountain was also one of my favorite rides because again, it was another roller coaster. We also got to talk to the turtle Crush, from the movie Finding Nemo. That was really fun too.
My second favorite moment at STN was going to Universal Studios! My favorite ride there was the Simpson ride! Although it was a really, really long wait, the ride was still fun, yet creepy in a sense. Than, after the rides we went on the tour. The tour was one of my favorites to because we got to some of the Fast of the Furious cars. We also got to ‘fight’ with them but we were wearing 3D glasses… it was still super fun!
Lastly, closing ceremonies at the convention. Now, it was pretty hectic, crazy, and fun. I really liked the closing ceremonies because we finally got to know who won what award! We also got to see a bunch of other schools videos and that was really cool too.
Those were my top three favorite moments at STN; going to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and the closing ceremonies! Thank you for reading my blog, bye!!
Hey everyone! This weeks blog is once again about STN, I didn't mention what STN meant in my previous blogs, so if your wondering it stands for student televison network. Anyways, our blog is about STN again, because... we are leaving next week for STN!!! So Mr. M wants us to type or talk what we are the most excited about doinf at STN. I am very excited, but in this blog I'm only going to tell you guys three reaons because if I want to to list all of the things I'm most excited about, this blog would be really long..
So the first thing I'm excited about doing at STN, is the actual convention. It just sounds so exciting and fun. I want to see how everything is like and how everyone else over there at the convention is like too. I also can't wait to go to different places around the hotel to find a place to film, it could also may be like a mini adventure. Probably the most thing I'm most excited about is finding our topic for PSA because that's also fun too!
The second thing I'm excited about is going to the Warner Brothers studio, and Universal Studios! I just can't wait! There are many sets that anyone could be familiar with, that was shot over there! This is even 10x exciting for me because it's my first time over there... and in the mainland!
The last place I'm the most excited to go to is Disneyland!!! It's going to be my first time there, and I'm going to be in the happiest place on earth! When I go there I can't wait to on the roller coasters because it's going to be my first actual roller coaster I'm going on. I also can't wait to go on splash mountain because I heard that, that is one of the funniest ride over there, and that ride also get's you wet!
Overall, I am very excited to go on this trip for many, many reasons. I'm very very excited to go on this trip because it's going to be my first time going to the mainland. Anyways, I hope everyone has an amazing day.. bye!!
Hola everyone! This weeks blog we have to talk about our regular STN teams, and our Crazy 8's team. We have to talk about how it was working with each other, and how we cooperated.. For the STN teams, I'm on the STN team, and I'm working with Rayden and Natalie. For the Crazy 8's Magazine teams, I'm working with Mia M. and Rayden, again.
Firstly, I'm going to be talking about the Crazy 8's Magazine team. I think we worked together pretty well. But we did have many downfalls trying to look for a story. The people we were going to do was the 88 shrines but they were closed when we went there. We were going to do the Smith's Botanical Garden, but then they didn't answer their phone. We were also going to do a story on a guy named Billy who hunts pigs, but he didn't get back to us. Although we did find a story and finished, which was good.
Secondly, for our PSA team. I think we did well cooperating. We also had good ideas, and I thought it was really fun working with them. We had all our teams figured out and we had our actors figured out too. We all participated with editing and filming, which was good too so we all did a mix of everything.
But we also had some downfalls in the PSA team. We argued on the last two STN practices. We argued over the little things but got over it really quickly. But then again we did have good ideas and finished the video on time.
Overall, I think we did good working with each other on the team. Hope everyone has a great day!
Hey everyone this weeks blog is about our 4th quarter project. We are doing something different this quarter, which working with a company called Kauai Grown. Kauai Grown is a bunch of farmers all over Kauai. Anyways, because we are working with that company and we have to take videos, photos, and make social media accounts, and take over them! So for this week have to talk about what teams we want to be in. I want to be on the Snapchat team, or the Instagram team and here are three reasons why.
So firstly, I'm going to be talking about why I want to be on either of these teams. I would like to be on either the Instagram team or the Snapchat team because I'm already on those apps 24/7. I know how to work them and I have had lot of experience of using those apps.
So now I'm going to be talking about why I want to be on the Snapchat team. Just like what I said I've had experience is one reason. Also I think it would be fun filming ten second videos and posting them on snapchat. Also I think it would be pretty interesting going out to the farm and filming all the farms, and maybe we could take mini interviews.
Secondly, I would like to be on the Instagram team. The reason behind this is because I think it would be cool or fun taking over someone else's Instagram account instead of my own. I think it will also be interesting posting different pictures or mini interviews from what the videography team was shooting, and adding questions to them.
Overall, these are some reasons on why I want to be on the Instagram, or Snapchat team. I hope I get on one one these team! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hola to everyone that is reading this! We recently just completed our 3rd quarter project, which was supposed to be a public service announcement. So this week blog topic is about our PSA project. and talk or type about weather we are satisfied or not satisfied with our project. To be honest, I think I'm kind've both for various reasons. If you wanna know why, just keep on reading.
Firstly, I am very satisfied with my idea. If you were wondering, my idea was to put sticky notes on a board with a person holding it saying "Who Am I?". So the reason why I'm very satisfied is because I think the idea is kind've unique. You could tell what the topic was in the video, and it was about labels.
Secondly, I liked how you could tell what was going on in the video. You could tell what the story was about, and to be honest, I think it was pretty clear that the topic was about labels because of the sticky notes and how they are labeling the person based on how they look. That is my second reason on why I am satisfied with my video.
The last reason is why I am not satisfied with my video. There are definitely some shots that I could work on more, and take more different angles. And in the end, I had a clip of my person talking which was Ty, and well he was talking but I didn't put a voice over in because I had 5 seconds left, which made me to put slides at the end of the video with the voice over of Ty talking.
In conclusion, I really could have done better. I have many more reasons but that's all I could fit in this blog today! Have a great day everyone, bye!
